Deborah Smith

Deborah K. Smith of Basom, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital. She was born on April 4, 1948 in Batavia, New York to the late Leo and Donna (Moses) Smith.

Deborah graduated from  Akron Central High School in 1966. She was a member of the Seneca Nation of Indians Cattaragus Reservation and the Heron Clan as well as a member of the Tonawanda Indian Baptist Church. She was also very involved with the Tonawanda Indian Reservation Historical Society. She enjoyed travelling frequently with her late Aunt Marion (Ducky) Moses and recently travelled to Canada for the Indigenous Games.   

Deborah is survived by Rene Kim (Ricardo) Adasme and their children Ryan (Melissa) and Roxanne (Brad); her friends at Leisuretimers and the Tonawanda Indian Reservation.

Memorial Service to be held  11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at The Tonawanda Indian Community House, 372 Bloomingdale, Basom, NY. Arrangements by Ross Funeral Home of Akron LLC. The family would appreciate donations in Deborah’s name to the Tonawanda Indian Reservation Historical Society.
