Douglas Randall, of Akron, NY; entered into rest on April 15, 2018. He was born in Franklinville, NY on March 9, 1933 to the late Albert and Ethel (Bergholtz) Randall.
A 1950 graduate of Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville. He then went on to serve our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Douglas married his late wife Marjorie of 56 years in 1954. He then obtained a degree in P.E. and Health from Brockport. On his quest to obtain his Master's Degree he attended the following schools: Cortland, St. Bonaventure, Worster Polytechnic Institute, University of Wisconsin, Florida State; finishing with a MA in Science from the University of Northern Iowa. He coached basketball and football in Frewsburg, Panama, and basketball in Akron. He was an avid sportsman and pilot. He was a member of the American Legion Post 900 and Gun Owners of America.
Beloved father of Susan Denning, Janet Gibbons, and Karl (Jamie) Randall ; cherished grandfather of Dillion Gibbons, Emma and Quinn Randall; dear brother of Gary (Sandy) Randall and Carol (Bob) Wilkom. His wife, Marjorie (Hogue) and son-in-law, Burton Denning predecease him.
Friends and relatives may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18th , at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron where a Funeral Service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 19. Please consider donations to the Alzheimers Association.
