Eileen Elizabeth (Scalzetta) Tiedt

Eileen Elizabeth Tiedt (Scalzetta), of Akron passed away peacefully, May 18, 2019. She was born September 20, 1923 in Lancaster, to the late Joseph and Mabel (Eberhardt) Scalzetta.

Eileen was a 1942 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Lancaster and loved sharing stories of how she walked to the schoolhouse every day in the snow. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immense joy. She was very proud of all of them and cherished the time they spent together.

Beloved mother of Robert (Debbie) Tiedt. Loving grandmother of Shanan (Joe) Muscato, Christopher Tiedt, Mark Tiedt, Kelley (Jason) Sims, and Andrew (Holly) Tiedt. Great grandchildren, Rory Sims and Kinsley Tiedt. She is predeceased by her husband of 56 years Robert C. Tiedt and also by her brothers, Frank and Joseph Scalzetta and sister, Jeanette Kolniak.

Friends and relatives may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday May 21, at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Teresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday May 22, at 10 a.m.
