John Michael Randall, age 76, passed away on Easter Sunday April 21, 2019 at his residence in Ft Myers, Florida. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY to Ellis and Marguerite (McCooey) Randall along with his two brothers Norman and Thomas. After being drafted into the Army and serving a tour in Vietnam, John went on to attend Plattsburgh State where he met Wilma, his wife of 49 years. He later went on to get his electrical engineering degree at the University of Buffalo and ran several successful businesses in the Buffalo area throughout his lifetime. He was an engineer at his core and could bring old buildings back to life, including the Westbrook that was built in 1923.
He was an active pilot and flew various airplanes safely for nearly 45 years including his Aero Commander and Republic Sea Bee. His heart and soul was in the Adirondacks where he spent many summer nights with his family at Fern Lake with fresh Guiness on tap. For those who knew him, he had a soft and generous heart within a tough outer shell.
John is survived by Wilma (Burnett) and his six children, Laura, Nathan, Adam, Andrew, Mary, and Kyle; and seven grand children, Sarah, Joshua, Grace, Annabel, Aliana, Lucas, and Margareta. John was very active in all of their lives and will be missed immensely.
