Joyce M. Wolters passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital on July 20, 2017. Joyce was born in Akron on September 5, 1926 to the late Richmond E. and Sarah M. (Brininstool) Schultz.
Joyce was a 1945 graduate of Akron Central High School. She married Kenneth E. Wolters March 27, 1947; they spent over 41 years together until his death December 2, 1988. She enjoyed garage sales and craft shows, anywhere where she could be around and talk with people. Joyce loved to cook and bake, but especially loved Perry’s Vanilla ice cream. Relationships were very important to her, the people she knew and her family, her mantra was “Family is Everything”.
Her children Christine S. Voll and Janice L. Rosenberg survive Joyce. Four grandchildren: Raymond (Lisa) Voll, Rebecca (Donald) Smith, Wendy (Josh) Schadt, Kelly (Marc) Schnirel. Great grandchildren: Katy and Collin Voll, Kelsey and Jacob Smith, Andrew Seguin, Aaron Schadt. A brother Wayne E. Schultz, several nieces and nephews, one grand dog and 6 great grand dogs also survive Joyce. She is predeceased by her siblings Virginia (Norman) Carpenter, Richmond (Joan) Schultz Jr., James (Evelyn) Schultz, Bessie (Chester) Barnes, Jack Schultz, Millicent (Robert) Lotz, a sister-in-law Elsie Schultz and son-in-law Frank Voll.
Friends and relatives may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, where a funeral service will immediately take place at 7 p.m. The family would appreciate memorials made in Joyce’s name to: The American Legion Post #900, Akron.
